Liverpool face Manchester City later this afternoon in what could go down as one of the most important games of the Premier League season.

The Reds currently sit eight points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side, with Liverpool flying in the Premier League having dropped points in just two games this season against Nottingham Forest and Arsenal.

With Robbie Fowler predicting Liverpool to get a result against City, the pressure is on for the Anfield side to claim another win under Arne Slot, who so far this season has not missed a single beat with his new team.

And Phil Foden has now made a claim about Liverpool having watched them this season.

Foden says Liverpool look ‘frightening’ under Slot this season

Speaking to the Times, the England international noted how scary Liverpool now look under Slot, who has proven himself to be the dream successor for Jurgen Klopp despite the size of the job the Dutchman had on his hands.

With Liverpool cruising in the Premier League and looking like strong favourites to finish top of the UEFA Champions League standings, Slot is more than showing why he is the perfect Anfield manager having won 17 of his first 19 games in charge on Merseyside.

And for Foden, Liverpool’s form has been quite the sight to behold as a rival player, with the City star claiming that the Reds have gone ‘under the radar’ this season with everyone focused on the Manchester side and Arsenal for the title.

Foden said when asked about Liverpool: “Yeah, they look frightening to be fair. They’ve gone under the radar a bit because everyone was talking about City and Arsenal but we know how good they are. [Sunday’s match] is going to be a challenge and we’re up for it.”

Slot knows he can build a new dynasty at Liverpool

Few fans would have predicted Slot to have been as good as he has been at Liverpool after replacing a mythical figure like Klopp this summer, but the former Feyenoord manager is proving just that with the Reds.

Liverpool are on course to win numerous pieces of silverware this season, with Slot instilling a brand of football that is proving hard to counter against with the Reds losing just one game in all competitions this campaign.

And for Slot, there’s a real chance that the Dutch coach could build a new dynasty at Liverpool, with the tools all there for the 46-year-old manager to leave a legacy of his own at Anfield for many years to come.
