Liverpool host Manchester City today in a Premier League title-decider that could have huge repercussions on the race for the championship.
The Reds head into the match eight points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side, with a win today at Anfield enough to take Liverpool an incredible 11 points ahead of City and nine points ahead of second-place Arsenal.

With Alan Shearer predicting a Liverpool win, the Merseyside giants head into today’s game as the overwhelming favourites with City in their first patch of genuine bad form under Guardiola for quite some years.
And Robbie Fowler has now given his verdict on if Liverpool can get a result against City.

Fowler Liverpool can ‘get a result’ against Manchester City
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Liverpool legend was confident in the Reds getting something against City, with Fowler saying: “It will be a good game. It won’t be an easy game, but I think Liverpool will get a result, it will be a hard one for Manchester City.”
With Liverpool heading into today’s game off the back of a 2-0 win against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, another huge result against one of the best in Europe would be quite remarkable from Arne Slot’s side.
The Dutch manager has led the Reds to a historic start to the new season with 17 wins from his first 20 games in all competitions, with Liverpool looking favourites for both the Premier League and Champions League.
And a win today would be another huge statement result for Liverpool, who are showing no sign of slowing down under Slot after such an incredible start to the new season having replaced Jurgen Klopp.

Slot will have no excuses to win the Premier League with a result today
It might still be early on in the season, but a win today for Liverpool to send them 11 points clear of City at this stage in the campaign should be a cause for celebration for the Reds and for Slot.
However, a win would also crank up the pressure for the Dutch manager to go all the way in the Premier League, with Liverpool having zero excuses to win the Premier League title with a result today at Anfield against Guardiola’s side.
Indeed, Liverpool have been a winning-machine this season under Slot, and the Reds will need to ensure they go all the way for the title if they pick up a big win today against City on Merseyside.
