Liverpool extended their winning run with a huge Premier League result against Manchester City.

Arne Slot’s side went nine points clear at the top of the standings with Liverpool breezing past City with a comfortable 2-0 win at Anfield, with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester giants now 11 points adrift of the Reds in the Premier League.

With Gary Neville in awe of Mohamed Salah’s assist for Liverpool’s opener, the Egyptian international was again the star of the show for the Merseyside giants, with the 32-year-old scoring from the spot to wrap up the three points.

Yet Neville noticed one moment from Salah that left the winger unhappy.

Salah ‘not happy’ with missed chance for Liverpool vs Manchester City

Speaking on Sky Sports coverage, Neville noted that Salah would not have been happy having missed a great chance to extend Liverpool’s lead, with the pundit saying: “The game was in Mo Salah’s left boot but he’s just tried to lift it and set it out. He will not be happy with that.”

With Salah speaking post-game about his Liverpool future, the spotlight will again be on the former AS Roma superstar having last week come out about his contract situation with the Reds heading into 2025.

Yet one thing that is for certain is that Salah is in the form of his life for Liverpool, with the winger the outright favourite for the Premier League Player of the Season award at this stage in the season.

Salah being upset over a missed chance is nothing out of the ordinary for the Liverpool star this season, who under Slot has exploded to life in a way few would have expected, especially considering the forward’s contract situation.

Yet Salah’s drive has been huge for Liverpool, and with the Reds still in the mix for all four competitions this season, there’s a real chance that the Anfield side could end the year with silverware because of the 32-year-old.
