Liverpool will be waiting a little nervously for the January transfer window to open.
The Reds have done some great business in the winter market over the years, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Philippe Coutinho and Luis Diaz arriving.
However, while Arne Slot may still add to the Liverpool squad, he will perhaps be more concerned with batting off overtures from elsewhere for three of his players.
As things stand, Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah could all agree deals with European sides in less than two months’ time.
Perhaps the most worrying of those situations is in regard to Alexander-Arnold. While Van Dijk and Salah may have no problem stretching negotiations into 2025, Trent is being pursued by Real Madrid.
And after Los Blancos lost Dani Carvajal for the rest of the season, they could be ready to attack the Liverpool right-back mid-campaign. With that in mind, it sounds like a plan may be in the works.

Liverpool could receive Aurelien Tchouameni swap
Given that they can get him for free in around six months time, it does not make a lot of sense for Real – or any other team – to pay a significant sum for Alexander-Arnold in January.
Nevertheless, they are seemingly a little desperate in Madrid after Carvajal’s injury.
As a result, Spanish outlet Defensa Central suggest that the European champions could make a ‘sacrifice’ to get Alexander-Arnold as soon as possible.
While this would reportedly involve paying a £21m fee, Liverpool would also supposedly demand a player in return, too.

According to Defensa Central, reported Liverpool target Rodrygo has already been rejected as a possibility in that respect.
But, interestingly, midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is claimed to have ‘not been ruled out’ as being used as a deal sweetener.
£21m and Tchouameni is said to be the potential offer, with it claimed that a concrete move for Trent is becoming more and more of a possibility.
Liverpool swap deal could make sense
Liverpool have obviously had big interest in Tchouameni in the not too distant past.
And as they continue to search for the right midfielder to add to the squad, Tchouameni has been linked with Liverpool once again.
If the Reds are convinced by January that Alexander-Arnold is not going to sign and Madrid come through with an offer like this, then they simply have to accept.
Tchouameni has been described as ‘fantastic’ by Carlo Ancelotti and the Frenchman could still be the player the Reds have been looking for.
If Alexander-Arnold signing on is still in the balance, though, then Liverpool surely won’t accept such a propsal.
The ideal scenario is still that the Liverpool academy graduate stays. Should it become clear that he isn’t, however, this could potentially make a lot of sense.
