The summer transfer window of 2024 has been one of the quietest in recent memory, with the biggest transfer coming in the form of Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid.

Liverpool were linked with Mbappe before the France superstar made the inevitable move to the reigning European champions, with the transfer arguably the biggest open secret in football for the past few years.

Now finally at Madrid, next season could see Los Blancos sweep up with Mbappe leading the line for the Spanish giants with Vinicius Junior on the wing and Jude Bellingham operating in midfield for Carlo Ancelotti’s super team.

Yet Liverpool could now make their own move to sign one of Madrid’s most exciting forwards because of Mbappe.

Liverpool eyeing Rodrygo Goes if Real Madrid allow sale

According to Mundo Deportivo, Rodrygo Goes has again emerged as a target for Liverpool, with the Reds open to signing the Brazilian winger if Madrid allow the forward to leave this summer.

As per the report, Mbappe’s arrival could severely affect Rodrygo’s playing time, and the 23-year-old attacker could be allowed to leave Madrid if it becomes clear that the former Santos player won’t be a regular in the new season.

With a release clause worth €1bn (£850m), it’s safe to say that Liverpool won’t be getting a cheap deal for Rodrygo if the Reds do indeed intend to move for the 27-cap Brazilian international this summer.

Yet with how exciting a prospect Rodrygo is and how alluring playing for Liverpool in the Premier League could be for the winger, a compromise could easily be reached between all three parties over a potential deal.

Rodrygo could be an electric signing for the Reds this summer

Naturally a right-winger but able to play across the entire attack, Rodrygo has a lot of tools that make the Madrid star an incredibly tantalising signing for Liverpool this summer, especially with a replacement for Mohamed Salah needed in the next 12 months.

With Rodrygo developing with each new season at Madrid, a move to England could be ideal for the winger at this stage in his career if his prospects of playing for the Spanish giants this season are as low as they will ever be.

And at Liverpool, Rodrygo will be in an environment where he’ll be allowed to continue his development and to show the world what he’s capable of, with Anfield the dream landing spot for any player.
