For the first time since becoming a regular starter for Liverpool, Andy Robertson is competing for a spot in the starting XI.
Arne Slot hasn’t refrained from rotating the Scotsman with Kostas Tsimikas, who has performed admirably whenever he’s been offered the chance this season.
The new Liverpool boss spoke about his dilemma at left-back, adding that he’s got two quality players in that position, much like what is the case with the rest of the squad.
And now, Robertson has had his say on his current form after what has been an indifferent spell for the Scotland captain at Anfield.
Robertson says he’s got a point to prove at Liverpool this season

The 30-year-old’s form has dipped slowly in recent seasons, with fans and pundits criticising his recent form for the club.
Darren Bent believes Liverpool will eventually replace Robertson, whose contract runs out in 2026.
However, the Scotsman is not going down without a fight as he suggested that he’s doing his best to win over the fans again after what has been a frustrating spell.
“To an extent, yeah,” said Robertson via The Times when asked if he’s got a point to prove after Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Aston Villa.
“The last couple of games I’ve been on the bench and I got doubters for the first time in a long time, first time at this club. But it suits me in this position. I am trying to prove people wrong again.
“I tried to do that today. I missed pre-season, which is never ideal for any player. And then I have had the ankle struggles. I got another knock on it against Wolves and it took a bit of time to settle down.

“Obviously taking a couple of games out was frustrating. I want to play every game, of course, but that was not possible. I knew that the next time I got a chance I would take it and that’s what I tried to do.”
Signed for £10m in the summer of 2017, Robertson was almost an ever-present under Jurgen Klopp as he played a big part in the German’s all-conquering team.
Robertson says people ‘wrote him off’ after Liverpool vs Arsenal
Ahead of the game against Arsenal, Gary Neville and Roy Keane said Robertson looked a bit off-colour this season.
And his performance against the Gunners proved them right as he endured a torrid night against Bukayo Saka in the 2-2 draw.
However, Robertson believes he was written off after just one bad game of football as he signaled his desire to bounce back and keep improving.
He continued: “[It was] probably a bad 45 minutes of football against Arsenal, it was not great. I think pretty much everyone had written me off after that.
“That is football and that is what happens these days. People can write me off all they want. But I will always try to keep working and keep improving. I have tried to do that and hopefully, I have shown that.”
