The January transfer window is under two months away from opening, and Liverpool could be one of the busier sides in the market.
The Reds made just the one signing for this season in the summer in the form of Federico Chiesa, with Liverpool now linked with the likes of Ayyoub Bouaddi as the Anfield side look to add to their squad going into 2025.
With Wataru Endo also keen to leave Liverpool, there are some players who the Merseyside giants could have to work on replacing immediately in January, with plenty of movement expected when the transfer window rolls around.
And Theo Walcott has suggested that one Newcastle United player could be perfect for Liverpool.

Liverpool told Alexander Isak would be well-suited at Anfield
Speaking to BBC Sport, the former Arsenal attacker suggested that Alexander Isak would be a good fit for Liverpool, with Walcott also noting that the Newcastle striker is near-perfect when it comes to Premier League centre-forwards.
Walcott said about the Swedish international: “When you talk about the mould for the ultimate build of a perfect striker, Isak has got all of those elements. I am not saying he is perfect yet, but he has got all the attributes he needs to become perfect.
“Whether that will happen at Newcastle, I don’t know. But they need to tie him down pretty quickly otherwise they are going to lose him.
“Isak is the sort of player Arsenal genuinely need, but you would say everyone needs a player like him in their team right now, even Liverpool, and it is not just Premier League teams who will be trying to get hold of him either.”

Would Isak actually be a good fit for Liverpool?
Jamie Carragher lauded Isak as a striker he ‘loves’, with the Newcastle attacker one of the most entertaining forwards to watch in the Premier League since moving to St. James’ Park in 2022 for £63m.
| 2024/25 stats | Alexander Isak | Darwin Nunez | Diogo Jota |
| Games played | 11 | 14 | 10 |
| Goals | 5 | 3 | 4 |
| Assists | 2 | 2 | 2 |
And as per Isak’s stats this season compared to Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota, the Newcastle star could be considered an upgrade on Liverpool’s current striking options this season.
Indeed, whether or not Newcastle will sell is another question entirely, yet with Liverpool having previous interest in signing Isak, there could be an opportunity in the market for the Reds to make quite the statement by signing the Premier League superstar.
