Liverpool are set for a big January transfer window, with plenty of rumours already flying around concerning the Reds.

Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres remains a target for Liverpool with the Anfield side also looking into signing LOSC Lille attacker Jonathan David, who impressed against Real Madrid this season in the UEFA Champions League.

Having made just one signing for this season in the summer in Federico Chiesa, Arne Slot is aware that more senior bodies are needed if Liverpool are to go the distance in the Premier League and Champions League, two tables that the Merseyside giants top.

And one wonderkid in Europe this season is now seemingly being watched by Liverpool.

Liverpool join the race for Lille teenager Ayyoub Bouaddi

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are one of many top European teams scouting 17-year-old Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, who this season has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in all of France.

Noted by Football Talent Scout as a ‘powerful’ player, Bouaddi has been a regular for Lille this season with the teenager, much like David, impressing against Madrid with the Ligue 1 side making quite a name for themselves in Europe.

As per the original report, though, the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea are also tracking Bouaddi, who could become the latest in a long line of Lille academy graduates to make the move from France to the Premier League.

And for Liverpool, Bouaddi could be an exceptional signing given Slot’s need for more depth in the midfield, with the teenager exactly the sort of player who could thrive with the Reds for years to come.

Liverpool should consider taking a risk on signing Bouaddi

Signing a 17-year-old prospect from France is something few top Premier League clubs would consider heading into 2025, but in the case of Liverpool and Bouaddi, the risk could be worth it.

The teenager already looks settled in one of the biggest leagues in Europe in Ligue 1, with Bouaddi this season alone taking on the likes of Madrid, Juventus and Sporting Lisbon.

And for Liverpool, the France youth international could be a real target for 2025 as a long-term midfielder, with Bouaddi quite the prospect and already looking good against Europe’s best in the Champions League.
