Liverpool endured a quiet summer transfer window as Arne Slot opted to guns and go with the squad he inherited from Jurgen Klopp.

However, that remains unlikely to be the case in the upcoming transfer windows, with the Reds linked with a host of players ahead of January.

Liverpool are favorites to sign Omar Marmoush, with Chelsea and Manchester United also gunning for his services.

However, reports from Germany suggest the Egyptian is not the only Eintracht Frankfurt player the Reds are keeping an eye on.

Hugo Larsson has developed admirably in the Bundesliga after moving to the club from Malmo in the summer of 2023.

The 20-year-old midfielder has become a key player for Dino Toppmoller and has played a pivotal role for Frankfurt as they occupy third spot in the Bundesliga standings, six points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.

According to Sky Germany, Larsson is attracting interest from a host of top clubs in Europe, with Liverpool believed to be one of them.

The Reds refrained from pursuing alternatives after Martin Zubimendi rejected a move to Anfield but remain on the lookout for midfield options, with Larsson added to their list of targets.

What has Dino Toppmoller said about Hugo Larsson?

Toppmoller has made a big impact since taking over the reigns at Deutsche Bank Park at the start of last season, with Larsson emerging as one of their brightest prospects.

When quizzed about Larsson last season, the Frankfurt boss tipped him to become one of the best players in the world in his position, singling out his mental stability for special praise.

He said (quotes via Fussball.news): “His talent and mental stability are outstanding. He lives football with everything he has. This is also evident in the individual video analyses.

“He asks questions, wants to know everything and says afterwards: ‘I love it and want more of it.'”
