Vitezslav Jaros’ took centre stage for Liverpool as they secured a 3-2 win against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup.
Making his first start for the club in place of Caoimhin Kelleher, the 22-year-old made a series of brilliant saves to spearhead Liverpool to the quarterfinals of the competition.
Lee Hendrie described Jaros’ performance against Brighton as ‘brilliant’ as he stood tall in a tricky away game.
And now, the youngster has described what he felt like after one of the biggest nights of his carer.
Vitezslav Jaros ‘over the moon’ after full Liverpool debut

Jaros made a fantastic save to deny Tariq Lamptey in the first half and sprung into action after the interval with an even better stop, this time against Simon Adingra.
Speaking after the game, the Czech goalkeeper said he was ‘delighted’ with his performance as he made a total of six saves in the game.
“I’m really happy that I could help the team like this in a tough game against Brighton away,” said Jaros to Liverpoolfc.com post-match.
“I’m over the moon with my performance and the team’s performance. [A first save in the game] calms you down, whatever it is, whether it’s a catch or a save you can get early on to calm you down and settle you in. That helps a lot.
“I didn’t really know too much about [the Adingra header], I was just getting across then the header went back across the goal and I just stuck my hand out to get something on it – and it went wide luckily.”
Arne Slot also praised Jaros for his performance against Brighton, pointing out that the youngster’s ball-playing ability stood out to him aside from his saves.
Diogo Jota and Conor Bradley wowed by Jaros’ performance
After the game, Jaros took to Instagram to celebrate his full debut as he made a post with the caption ‘Full debut ✅’.
Diogo Jota reacted with a 👏 emoji, while Conor Bradley wrote, “Top class brother ❤️”.
There was still more praise for Jaros, with Kelleher commenting, “Love it you 👏👏🔥” while former Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian San Miguel wrote, “Congrats mate 👏🏻 🔥”.
Liverpool fans were also seriously impressed by Jaros’ full debut as they took to X to sing his praises after the game.
It has been a good 24 hours for the 22-year-old and it remains to be how he builds on his exploits in the coming months.
