Liverpool have one of the biggest and best squads in world football, with Arne Slot getting results out of the team that few would have expected.

The Dutch coach has transformed the likes of Ryan Gravenberch and Luis Diaz into two of the best players in the Premier League this season, with Rafael van der Vaart recently hailing the Dutch international for his form this year.

With Slot also getting a tune out of the usual superstar players in Liverpool’s squad, the former Feyenoord manager is proving to be a great appointment for the Anfield side having succeeded Jurgen Klopp this summer.

And four Liverpool players have now been listed in a new ranking.

Mohamed Salah headlines Liverpool quartet in new world’s best list

As per a new list published by FourFourTwo, four Liverpool players have cracked it into the football magazine’s top 20 players currently playing, with Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk making the cut.

With Salah ranked in the top-ten at number seven behind the likes of Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, few Liverpool fans will have any complaints as to where the Egyptian international was ranked.

With Alexander-Arnold the highest-ranked fullback and Alisson voted the best goalkeeper in the world, Liverpool’s other star players did very well in the list, with Van Dijk behind Arsenal’s William Saliba for the best centre-back currently playing.

Indeed, Liverpool are top of the Premier League for good reason having constructed one of the best squads in the world through smart scouting and clever player development, and having four players ranked in the top 20 is more than deserving for the Reds.

Liverpool could have even more players in the top 20 next year

Although the futures of Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Van Dijk are up in the air, there’s a real chance that at least two of these names will remain at Anfield for next season should Liverpool win silverware under Slot.

And with Gravenberch on the path to becoming a monster midfielder in the Premier League coupled with Diaz hitting good form as Liverpool’s starting left-winger, the Reds could have even more players in the top 20 in next year’s list.

Indeed, Slot is building a squad that can challenge for everything, and next year could see Liverpool’s squad hit another level if certain players develop and world-class signings are made.
