Liverpool have one of the best squads in world football, and this international break has shown just how good the Reds currently are.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was lauded by the English media after last night’s performance with the Three Lions against Finland, whilst Caoimhin Kelleher was also praised despite making a crucial error for the Republic of Ireland.

With Liverpool back in action this weekend against Chelsea, Arne Slot will be keen to get back to work with his squad ahead of what will be a massive Premier League fixture for the table-topping Reds.

And former Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart has now shared his love for one Liverpool player.

Ryan Gravenberch praised after breakthrough season with Liverpool

Speaking to Voetbal Primeur, the pundit lauded Ryan Gravenberch with the Liverpool midfielder looking like a new player under Slot this season, with the 22-year-old also thriving for the Dutch national team.

Playing alongside Alexis Mac Allister in the midfield, Gravenberch has looked like a new player this season after a mixed first year under Jurgen Klopp, where the £34m signing from Bayern Munich struggled with form and fitness.

This season, though, has been a completely different story for Gravenberch, and for Van der Vaart, the Liverpool midfielder is starting to look confident again, a sign that the youngster could be finally realising his immense potential.

Van der Vaart said when asked about Gravenberch and the midfielder’s potential: “He’s my type of player. I love him. He’s a player I like to watch. I see a lot of potential in him. If he gains confidence and has the right trainer… With Arne Slot he has the perfect trainer.”

Gravenberch is quickly becoming one of Liverpool’s best players

Gravenberch was signed as a potential long-term option in Liverpool’s midfield, and under Slot, the former Ajax wonderkid is now finally looking the part alongside Mac Allister in the new-look 4-2-3-1 system.

The Dutch international has been nothing short of incredible this season, with Jamie Carragher comparing Gravenberch to Patrick Vieira after Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

And if Gravenberch can remain fit, there’s no telling how good the Netherlands superstar can become in the years to come, with the midfielder looking like the real deal in the Premier League with Liverpool.
