England take on Greece tonight in a game that will see two Liverpool defenders face off against one another in Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas.
The two Anfield fullbacks have been in fine form this season, with Darren Bent naming Alexander-Arnold in his Premier League Team of the Season so far, whereas Michael Owen hailed Tsimikas as ‘brilliant’ in Liverpool’s recent 1-0 win against Crystal Palace.
Now, the pair are set to meet on the international stage in the UEFA Nations League, with England and Greece both winning their first two games of this season’s competition against Finland and the Republic of Ireland.
And Tsimikas has now delivered his honest opinion on Alexander-Arnold ahead of tonight’s game.

Tsimikas hails Alexander-Arnold as England’s ‘number one’ right-back
Speaking to the press, the Liverpool defender showered his teammate with praise, with Tsimikas naming Alexander-Arnold as England’s best right-back with the 25-year-old now back to his world-class best in the position.
Alexander-Arnold received plenty of praise from the English media in the last international break after interim manager Lee Carsley started the Liverpool maestro back in the right-back position after the failed midfield project this summer at the Euros, a decision that paid off massively in September.

And for Tsimikas, there’s no better right-back in the England talent pool right now than Alexander-Arnold, who this season has been on another level compared to others in the position for the Three Lions this season.
Tsimikas said: “For sure it was really hard for him. Trent is the kind of guy who wants to play. I’m really happy for him the last couple of games. He plays and always delivers. The numbers in Liverpool speak for themselves. For my opinion, he knows my opinion, for me he is the number one right-back.”

Alexander-Arnold could make a mockery out of Tsimikas tonight
England look reborn and refreshed under Carsley based on the last international break, with Alexander-Arnold the man of the moment for the Three Lions as the defender ran the show for Euro 2024 finalists from the right-back position.
And against Greece tonight, Alexander-Arnold could make a mockery out of Tsimikas and his entire defence in what could be another standout performance for the Liverpool fullback, who will want to stand out once more.
Indeed, Alexander-Arnold is back to his best for club and country and looking unstoppable in the right-back position, and Wembley Stadium could be in for another masterclass from the Liverpool defender if he’s up for the occasion.
