Liverpool missed out on signing a midfielder this summer, yet the Reds have so far looked good in this area despite the lack of depth.
Ryan Gravenberch has looked like a new player under Arne Slot this season with the Dutch international forming a great midfield partnership with Alexis Mac Allister, with Dominik Szoboszlai also looking good playing in a more advanced role.
With Slot praising Gravenberch and Mac Allister after Saturday’s 2-1 win away to Wolves, the Liverpool manager has seemingly stumbled upon his ideal midfield for this season, with the Reds top of the Premier League and looking good already in Europe.
Yet Liverpool are still in the market for a midfield, with the Anfield side keeping tabs on one player in particular.

Liverpool eyeing PSV Eindhoven star Joey Veerman
According to GiveMeSport, Liverpool are watching PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joey Veerman, who is available for £42m as the Netherlands international looks set to depart the reigning Dutch champions in 2025.
Noted by Breaking The Lines as an ‘elite’ central midfielder, Veerman was linked with Liverpool this summer before the Reds put all their attention into signing Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi, a pursuit that did not go too far.
As a result, it makes sense why Liverpool are now keeping tabs on Veerman, who last registered an astonishing 19 assists in all competitions for PSV on their way to the Eredivisie title, with the midfielder also bagging seven goals.
Indeed, with Liverpool in need of midfield depth for 2025, the 25-year-old PSV star could be perfect for Slot’s side, especially with Veerman looking to move on from Eindhoven next year having outgrown the Dutch top-flight already.

Liverpool need to strongly consider Veerman swoop in 2025
Veerman showed last season that he is simply too good for the Eredivise after an incredible year with PSV, with the Premier League a natural next step for the Dutch international heading into 2025.
And for Liverpool, the Reds need to strongly consider a swoop for Veerman in the January transfer window, with the Anfield side in need of a new midfielder to help challenge the likes of Gravenberch and Mac Allister.
With a £42m price tag, Liverpool have the funds to make the move possible if their Premier League title challenge is still ongoing, with the Reds currently top of the table and not showing any sign of slowing down just yet.
