Arne Slot has had a strong star to life as Liverpool manager, with the Dutch coach last night picking up his biggest win yet in terms of the scoreline against West Ham.

The Reds ran riot against the Irons in a 5-1 win at Anfield, with Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo the stars of the show as Liverpool comfortably booked their place in the next round of the League Cup, a competition Slot will be set on winning.

After a historic defeat against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool have bounced back in the perfect way with wins in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and now League Cup, with Slot getting his side ticking.

And Premier League icon Kevin Nolan has shared what has impressed him most about Slot at Liverpool.

Nolan impressed with Slot’s response to Liverpool loss vs Nottingham Forest

Speaking on Sky Sports, the former West Ham star noted how impressed he has been with Slot’s reaction to the defeat at Forest, with Nolan highlighting how Liverpool haven’t changed anything or gone into a state of panic.

Slot himself was fuming with Liverpool’s performance after the 1-0 loss earlier this month, yet the Dutch coach has stuck to his values tactically, and the Reds are benefiting from it with wins against AFC Bournemouth, AC Milan and now West Ham.

Nolan said: “When you lose that home game against Forest, you think: ‘Okay, let’s see what they’ve got,’ but it’s how they’ve bounced back. I think that has been the most impressive thing. Slot came out and spoke really well, I thought, after the game.

“There was no sense of panic or urgency to try and change things, he stuck to his beliefs and you can see that they’re all playing for him. It looks like a really good and very bright future for Liverpool going forward.”

Slot is proving he’s the right man for the job at Liverpool

Replacing a figure as legendary as Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool was always going to feel like an impossible job for the Reds, yet Slot is proving to be the right man for the job at Anfield.

The Merseyside giants have naturally evolved on the pitch under the former Feyenoord manager, who in his first few months on the Liverpool touchline is proving to be a natural successor to Klopp and the style of football the German coach brought to England nearly ten years ago.

Indeed, Liverpool are top of the Premier League for a reason under Slot, and the Reds will only get stronger from here ahead of some winnable games and some fixtures that will test the Anfield side with their current squad.
