Arne Slot suffered his first loss as Liverpool manager as the Reds experienced a shock 1-0 defeat at Anfield against Nottingham Forest.
Callum Hudson-Odoi’s second-half strike was enough to secure a famous win for the Garlibaldi on Merseyside as Liverpool failed to get going against Forest, with Manchester City winning 2-1 against Brentford to take a firm lead at the top of the Premier League.
With AC Milan coming up next week in the UEFA Champions League for Liverpool, a surprise loss to a club like Forest is the last thing Slot wanted after such a strong start in the hot seat with the Anfield side.
And Slot has now shared what annoyed him most about today’s loss against Forest.

Slot slams Liverpool for lack of chances vs Forest
Speaking to the press after the shock results, Slot was critical of how Liverpool failed to take their chances against Forest, with the Reds managing just five shots on target with the visitors making their three on the day count.
Slot said when asked about what frustrated him about Liverpool’s performance against Forest: “The result frustrates the most and we cannot be happy about how the game went. It was a stop-start game and we hardly created any chances.
“We only have to look at ourselves, we have to be better. Far too many times we lost the ball around the area, it was not good enough. We have to be better with the ball. Our decisions and execution wasn’t good enough.
“In general we defended quite well but the two fast players came on and made it difficult. We took a lot of risk and in the end it was a very good goal.”

Liverpool can’t let historic defeat get to their heads
Forest’s win against Liverpool was their first Premier League win ever at Anfield, as well as the first time the historic English side won in the red half of Merseyside in the league since 1969.
And for Liverpool, this historic defeat can’t be allowed to get into their heads as we approach next week’s massive European tie against Milan, where Slot and his side will want to deliver the ultimate response.
Indeed, Liverpool have made Anfield a fortress in the last ten years under Jurgen Klopp, and Slot will want to maintain this legacy left by the German having now tasted defeat for the first time.
