Liverpool suffered an early blow to their Premier League title hopes with a shock 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Arne Slot now knows the task at Liverpool after the disappointing defeat, with Callum Hudson-Odoi netting the only goal at Anfield.
Slot was frustrated at the result, which leaves Liverpool three points behind Manchester City in the league table.
The Dutchman did his best to change the tempo of the game at Anfield with a triple substitution on the hour mark.
But the arrivals of Darwin Nunez, Conor Bradley and Cody Gakpo changed nothing, with Kostas Tsimikas and Curtis Jones in the same situation after their 75th-minute introductions.

Alan Shearer slams Darwin Nunez in Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest
The decisions certainly backfired, with Nunez and Bradley playing the villain as Forest broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute.
Nunez was easily dispossessed by centre-back Nikola Milenkovic just outside the Forest box, with Bradley then allowing Hudson-Odoi to curve home a long-range shot much too easily.

Alan Shearer was left unimpressed by the Liverpool attacker in particular, saying on Match of the Day: “This is actually Forest’s goal. Liverpool on the attack, Milenkovic was too strong for Nunez, when he came on he didn’t add anything to the game.”
Darwin Nunez continues frustrating Liverpool season
Nunez perhaps believed a starting role would have gone his way at Anfield, having been suspended for Uruguay in the recent international break.
But Slot opted to keep the attacker on the bench until the hour mark, with his 30-minute cameo now his longest appearance in a match this season.
Nunez was left on the bench for the opening day clash with Ipswich, before appearing for 18 minutes and 14 minutes against Brentford and Man United respectively.

It has been a very frustrating campaign for the forward thus far, with Nunez certainly not improving his chances of a start with his failures against Forest.
Slot is, however, certain to rotate his attack when the Reds take on AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday, with Nunez likely to be tried from the very start.
