Arne Slot has already enjoyed great success at Liverpool, having won his first three Premier League matches in charge.

Liverpool overcame Ipswich Town and Brentford 2-0 at Portman Road and Anfield respectively to kickstart their season in style.

But the icing on the cake then arrived with a 3-0 victory over fierce rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford, with Chris Sutton saying Slot has more control than Jurgen Klopp after the win.

The Red Devils certainly are not what they used to be, having once dominated the Premier League under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ferguson won 13 Premier League titles with the Red Devils, more than twice as many as Pep Guardiola in second place.

Arne Slot chooses Jurgen Klopp over Sir Alex Ferguson

The current Manchester City boss has six top-flight English titles to his name, with Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho next on the list with three each.

But when asked to name the best-ever Premier League manager, Liverpool boss Slot went down a different route.

“The first ones that come to my mind are Kenny Dalglish, and of course Jurgen Klopp,” Slot told Sky Sports.

Many of his fellow Premier League managers also answered the question, with Erik ten Hag, Eddie Howe, Steve Cooper and Ange Postecoglou all voting for Ferguson.

Russell Martin meanwhile was split between Ferguson and Guardiola, while Mikel Arteta couldn’t choose between Ferguson, Guardiola and Wenger.

Enzo Maresca and Andoni Iraola both selected Guardiola, with Marco Silva opting to pick the iconic Jose Mourinho.

Can Arne Slot follow in Jurgen Klopp’s footsteps at Liverpool?

Perhaps Liverpool fans would have lost some faith in Slot had he opted to select the likes of Ferguson or Guardiola over Anfield legend Klopp.

The German and indeed Dalglish both have one Premier League title to their names, with the latter’s coming at Blackburn Rovers.

Slot is now the latest in a long line of bosses to take on the huge task of managing Liverpool, but so far he has been passing the test.

It is, however, very early days in his Anfield tenure, with the Dutchman simply needing to take the job one game at a time.

Frank Leboeuf says Slot has created a ‘masterpiece’ at Liverpool, with fans of the club hoping the success doesn’t slow down anytime soon.

He now has an international break to get through without any injuries to his players, with the fixtures then arriving thick and fast in the league, Champions League and League Cup.
