Liverpool were certainly one of the more inactive Premier League and indeed European clubs in the transfer window.

The Anfield faithful were becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of spending from FSG, and the lack of signings from Arne Slot.

But Liverpool did manage to get two late transfers over the line, with Giorgi Mamardashvili and Federico Chiesa joining the club.

The former will, however, not be available until next summer after returning to Valencia, while the latter was not ready to make his debut against Man United.

Liverpool fans may have wanted one or two more faces in the door, but they certainly cannot complain about the start to the new season.

John Terry messages Rio Ngumoha after he signs for Liverpool

There has, however, now been another addition to the Merseyside club, albeit at youth level, with Rio Ngumoha now a Liverpool player.

The 16-year-old forward left Chelsea earlier this summer, and has now taken to social media to confirm his move to Anfield.

He wrote on Instagram: “Delighted to sign for Liverpool, YNWA,” with the teenager sealing approval from Chelsea legend John Terry, who commented: “Good luck mate.”

What do Liverpool have planned for Rio Ngumoha?

Liverpool were ready to sign Ngumoha in July, but the Reds needed to go through a lengthy process given his age.

But the deal is now over the line, with fans certain to be excited about what the future holds for the attacker.

The England youth international is expected to start out with Liverpool Under-18s, before hopefully making his way to the first-team in the near future.

Notable account The Secret Scout labelled Ngumoha ‘exceptional’, with the Anfield faithful surely excited to see him in action in red.

The club’s academy has helped produce several first-team stars over the years, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones and Conor Bradley among the current graduates shining with the senior side.
