Liverpool star Mohamed Salah continued his superb start to the new season with a goal and two assists against Man United.

Salah impressed Troy Deeney with his performance, with his fellow winger Luis Diaz netting a brace to help secure a 3-0 win.

Liverpool now have three wins from three under Arne Slot, leaving them joint-top of the Premier League table with Man City.

Roy Keane was blown away by Salah, who now has three goals and three assists from his three appearances this season.

The Egyptian has proven once more just how impressive and indeed crucial he is for Liverpool, with another very important season incoming.

Pundit Darren Bent has now discussed Salah in a wider context, having debated who the greatest ever African player is on talkSPORT.

“For me, [Didier] Drogba was the one, but I think Salah now has just overtaken Drogba,” said Bent. “He was prolific. He was one in two for Chelsea in terms of goals.”

Players are, of course, much more than simply their goals and assists, but plenty of other factors coming into the debate of the greatest talents.

And there can be no debating just how talented Chelsea legend Drogba was and iconic Liverpool forward Salah is.

The former enjoyed a stunning spell in England the first time around, having returned to Stamford Bridge later on in his career.

Drogba bagged a total of 164 goals from his 381 Blues appearances, with the Ivory Coast icon having also chipped in with 88 assists.

Salah meanwhile is currently on 214 goals from his 352 Reds appearances, with 92 assists going his way so far.

They truly are stunning figures, with Salah’s right-wing position making them even more remarkable, with Drogba having largely operated as a striker.

Drogba also banged in 65 goals in 105 Ivory Coast matches, with Salah currently on 54 goals from 96 Egypt games.
