Liverpool sent out a statement to the rest of the Premier League by thrashing Man United on Sunday.
The Reds headed into the game with a perfect record under Arne Slot so far, but a trip to Old Trafford represented the biggest test yet by some distance.
Nevertheless, it was one Liverpool ultimately passed with ease. A Luis Diaz double and a slotted Mohamed Salah finish gave the Reds a priceless 3-0 win.
Key to the victory was the Liverpool midfield. Gary Neville admitted that Man United were ‘absolutely destroyed‘ in the middle of the pitch against an impressive Reds trio.
Part of that group was Alexis Mac Allister. But, taking to Instagram after the game, Mac Allister was keen to give one of his midfield partners his flowers, too.

Alexis Mac Allister hails Ryan Gravenberch
Mac Allister has quietly had a really good start to his second year at Anfield. The Argentine is now a huge part of the Liverpool squad.
If Macca has been going under the radar, though, then Ryan Gravenberch certainly has not.
All eyes have been on Gravenberch as he trials out in a new, deeper lying position in the Liverpool midfield.
So far, Gravenberch has done really well in his new role, leading to suggestions that the Reds may have found an answer to their trouble in the number six position.

And the Dutchman once again underlined that possibility with a super performance at Old Trafford.
Taking to Instagram, Gravenberch celebrated the win. “Perfect start,” wrote the £34m man. “See you after the break, Reds.”
Plenty of Gravenberch’s teammates were keen to point out just how good he was on Sunday. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo all left emoji-based comments signalling as much.
But it was Mac Allister’s comment which caught the eye the most. “What a player,” wrote the World Cup winner. What a player indeed.
Ryan Gravenberch impresses rivals
Liverpool players weren’t the only ones seemingly impressed by Gravenberch’s dominating display against United.
Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven was also wowed, writing “You were top notch” in Dutch, while another North London based Netherlands international – Jurrien Timber – left a flames and key emoji.
If Gravenberch carries on in this vein, then he certainly can become the key to Liverpool’s midfield.
It is still early days, but the signs so far are that Arne Slot has found the perfect position for his compatriot to shine in the Reds new system.
More difficult days will come, for sure, but Gravenberch has just made another almighty statement.
