Liverpool were good value for a brilliant win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Barring one or two sensational score lines, the Reds have generally found the going tough in Salford under Jurgen Klopp.
But with Arne Slot winning his first two Premier League fixtures, there was quiet confidence that Liverpool could get a better result this weekend.
Heading into the game, all the focus was on Liverpool’s lack of business at the end of the transfer window. Many supporters felt the Reds should have added an elite defensive midfielder over the summer.
But as he has all season up to this point, Ryan Gravenberch was slotted in once more in the number six role for Liverpool. And according to Gary Neville, the Dutchman was excellent once again.

Gary Neville hails Liverpool midfield
It was a big source of frustration for Liverpool supporters that no business was done to add to the midfield this summer.
After going big in the middle of the pitch last year, it still feels as though the Reds are missing a top number six in the first-team squad.
But having missed out on Martin Zubimendi, Slot has been forced to go with what he has.
So far, that has amounted to Gravenberch playing in a double pivot alongside Alexis Mac Allister, with Dominik Szoboszlai playing just ahead.

At Old Trafford on Sunday, the trio faced a midfield of Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes.
And commentating for Sky Sports with Liverpool 3-0 up, co-commentator and Man United legend Neville claimed that Slot’s midfield had ‘absolutely destroyed’ their United counterparts.
“They’ve absolutely destroyed them in the midfield,” said the pundit.
“This Liverpool three have outplayed them, out-thought the way they set up, found space.”
Ryan Gravenberch passes toughest audition yet
It is by now a very open secret that Slot was not especially happy with the midfield he inherited from Jurgen Klopp this summer.
Slot tried to sell Wataru Endo and bring in Zubimendi to give him more of what he wated in central areas.
But having had to go with Gravenberch, it’s fair to say that the head coach has every right to be delighted with how his compatriot has repaid him so far.
Gravenberch was excellent on opening day against Ipswich and solid against Brentford last week, too.
Turning up at Old Trafford and bossing the midfield is a whole different ballgame, though. And, as Neville suggests, the 22-year-old absolutely ran the show. The questions over the position may not go away in the long-term, but Gravenberch is showing that he certainly can be the answer.
