Diogo Jota sends one-word message as Stefan Bajcetic completes loan move from Liverpool to RB Salzburg

Liverpool’s deadline day business has boiled down to completing moves away from the club for a number of fringe players.

There had been hope that the Reds may have a late surprise or two up their sleeve in terms of incomings, but unless something drastic happens, that is not going to be the case.

Instead, Liverpool have tied up a handful of loan moves for players such as Kaide Gordon, Nat Phillips and Marcelo Pitaluga.

Another to make a temporary switch has been midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, who has joined RB Salzburg under Pep Lijnders.

It had not been a move which many had seen coming this summer, with reports that Bajcetic himself had been surprised by being put up for loan. Nevertheless, the transfer has now gone through.

Barcelona made a late move to get Bajcetic to the Camp Nou on loan, but the decision to go to Salzburg looks like a better one for Stefan.

The Spaniard will join up with Lijnders again and will hopefully get the chance to play regularly in the Bundesliga.

Bajcetic will also get the chance to play alongside former Liverpool academy teammate Bobby Clark in the Salzburg midfield, too.

And having completed his own move to the Red Bull club earlier in the summer, Clark was one of those to welcome Bajcetic when he took to Instagram to celebrate the transfer on Friday.

“Let’s go brother,” wrote Clark, while Conor Bradley said “all the best brother go smash it!” Diogo Jota was another to make a contribution, simply writing “Vamooos.”

As for Bajcetic himself, he made an understated post celebrating his arrival in Austria.

“Really excited to join Red Bull Salzburg,” he wrote. “Ready to start the season well and achieve good things with this club.”

Who else has gone out on loan?

Liverpool’s deadline day has simply been an exercise in trimming out the players who may not get game time under Arne Slot this season.

So far, Nat Phillips has joined Derby County, Kaide Gordon has gone to Norwich City and Marcelo Pitaluga has moved to Livingston.

Although it is not yet official, it also looks very likely that Ben Doak will complete a loan move to Middlesbrough.

While there is disappointment at seeing the likes of Bajcetic and Doak in particular leave Anfield for now, the hope is that they can do well and still be a part of Liverpool’s plans in the future.
