Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic remains uncertain about where he will be playing his football this season.
Bajcetic is set to join Red Bull Salzburg, where the Spanish youngster would reunite with former Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders.
But Barcelona also want Bajcetic, who was limited to just three senior appearances last season due to a calf injury.
The 19-year-old joined the Merseyside club from Celta Vigo in 2022, and has gone on to make 22 appearances.
Bajcetic has hugely impressed when given the opportunity, with the Spaniard able to play in midfield and at right-back.

But he is now in danger of leaving Liverpool, potentially on loan, as Arne Slot looks to finalise his squad for the new season.
The player’s father has now spoken out about the situation, telling RAC1: “We didn’t expect Barca to enter the race… we have all ready to go to Salzburg.

“But we still don’t have any info on what’s going to happen. I’d like Stefan to play for a top club like Barca or stay at Liverpool, he’s ready for top clubs.”

Bajcetic has had a torrid time lately due to injury, with a move away from Anfield this summer perhaps making sense as he looks to build his fitness.
Regular minutes are unlikely to arrive under Slot, with a bit-part role more likely as the Reds look to fight on all fronts.

But given his current ability and indeed potential, Bajcetic should only be allowed to leave on loan, rather than permanently.
A handful of talented youngsters have already been allowed to leave this summer, but importantly on loan.
Bajcetic’s fellow midfielder Bobby Clark has, however, joined RB Salzburg on a permanent deal, which could turn out to be a mistake.
