Liverpool have been very quiet in terms of summer transfer window signings, with only Giorgi Mamardashvili brought in so far.
Alisson helped Liverpool sign Mamardashvili, although the latter has returned to Valencia on loan until next summer.
New Liverpool manager Arne Slot has impressed in his brief time at the club so far, with the Reds winning their first two league matches.
He has tried to strengthen this summer, but the Merseyside outfit failed in their efforts to sign Martin Zubimendi.
The lengthy and ultimately unsuccessful pursuit of the Spaniard did, however, show that Slot wants to bring in a new number six.

Liverpool agree Federico Chiesa deal
But the Anfield boss has gone down a different route with his latest signing, with Fabrizio Romano reporting on X that Liverpool have agreed a deal for Federico Chiesa.
The journalist said that the attacker will join for €13million (£10.95million) plus add-ons, and will sign a four-year contract.

Romano added that Chiesa accepted the Merseyside club immediately, and will fly to complete the deal later today.
What can Federico Chiesa bring to Liverpool?
Many Liverpool fans may immediately point to the issue of a long list of talented attackers already being at Anfield.
Slot already has Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah to call upon out wide, with the pair seemingly his favourite wide duo at this moment in time.

But Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez can also operate out wide, while Diogo Jota is capable of playing all across the front line.
That is, however, the same for Chiesa, who has proven over the years for club and country that he can play in various positions.
Rio Ferdinand labelled Chiesa ‘fantastic’, with the Italian having impressed in recent years for Juventus and for the Italian national team.
Liverpool fans will be delighted with the signature, with the 26-year-old bolstering their options ahead of the club’s return to the Champions League.
