Having kept their powder dry throughout the summer so far, Liverpool could be in for a busy end to the transfer window.
The Reds have taken their time in assessing what Arne Slot may need to add to the team in order to be competitive this season.
Initially, that had resulted in Liverpool targeting a new, deep lying midfielder. However, with a move for Martin Zubimendi failing to get off the ground, the Reds have moved on to look at other positions.
It had previously been reported that Liverpool may target a new wide forward this summer and it has now emerged that Juventus winger Federico Chiesa is on the radar.
With just a few days left to go in the transfer window, a move for Chiesa has to happen quickly.

Federico Chiesa to Liverpool a concrete possibility
In truth, Slot’s squad looks well stocked in wide areas. However, Chiesa is a long-term target for Liverpool and is available for a bargain fee this summer.
As sporting director Richard Hughes scours the market for ‘opportunistic’ signings, he has been reported as targeting players in Italy and Spain.
Having played in his home country all his career, Italy international Chiesa would fit that bill.
And according to journalist David Lynch via his Substack it is now a ‘concrete possibility’ that the 26-year-old could become a Liverpool player before Friday’s deadline.

The Athletic also cover the Reds’ potential move for Chiesa, with the outlet including a titbit from Liverpool insiders.
They claim that ‘Liverpool sources’ are insisting that interest in the Euro 2020 winner is merely ‘exploratory’ for the time being.
There are also said to be ‘several other’ names being considered at a similar stage, although these aren’t disclosed for the time being.
Nevertheless, Liverpool’s interest is claimed to be enough that they are ‘considering’ making a concrete move for Chiesa. Juventus reportedly value the forward around £13m.
Why do Liverpool want Chiesa?
This news will have come out of the blue for many Liverpool supporters. Although Chiesa has been a name very much on the radar before, he has fallen off it rather signficantly.
Despite that, the former Fiorentina man was still a key player for Juve last season, playing 37 times across all competitions, scoring 10 goals.
For the kind of fee being reported – and the depth of Liverpool’s options right now – it’s clear that Chiesa would not be coming in as an immediate starter.
But as a versatile forward who can certainly play off the right, he will likely be the man to add more quality to back-up Mohamed Salah.
Whatever way you look at this, there is far more upside to downside in this deal. Liverpool may have other priorities, but signing Chiesa would be exciting nonetheless.
