Liverpool made it six points from a possible six with a comfortable 2-0 win at Anfield against Brentford.
Luis Diaz’s opener, which Arne Slot celebrated in an interesting manner, got the ball rolling for Liverpool as the Colombian winger turned provider in the second-half for Mohamed Salah, who wrapped up the three points for the Reds.
With the attention now on the final week of the transfer window, the Anfield side will want to end August on a high with a signing or two before the market closes, with Liverpool close to signing Giorgi Mamardashvili.
And one player really caught the eye of Jamie Redknapp on Merseyside this afternoon.

Mohamed Salah lauded after Liverpool win vs Brentford
Speaking on Sky Sports‘ coverage of the game, the former Liverpool captain was full of praise for Salah and how the Egyptian international has started the new season in terrific form.
The former AS Roma star was on the scoresheet last weekend against Ipswich Town, with Salah breaking another Premier League and Liverpool record in the process.

And for Redknapp, the pundit has been blown away by what he’s seen from Salah already this season, with the winger looking as good as he ever has for the Reds.
Redknapp said on Liverpool’s no. 11: “Mo Salah has already started so well. You look at him, he comes every year in incredible shape. He is an incredible specimen, scores goals, great attitude. I can only imagine what he is like in training.”

Salah will be as important as ever for Liverpool this season
Salah has been one of the most consistent goalscorers in Europe since making the £34m move to Liverpool back in 2017, and the winger will be as important as ever for the Reds this season.
The 32-year-old has aged like a fine wine and is showing no sign of slowing down under Slot this season, with Salah already looking like his usual world-class best after just two Premier League games.
And if Slot is to guide Liverpool to silverware this campaign, Salah will have to be at his absolute best to get the Anfield giants across the finish line, with four trophies up for grabs.
