Time is rapidly ticking down for Liverpool to do some transfer business ahead of the new season.
The Reds kicked off their Premier League campaign with a convincing win over Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.
However, with a long season ahead and so many games to play, there are some concerns that Liverpool are taking too much of a gamble by not adding to their first-team squad.
As well as surprise over the distinct possibility that the Reds have no new faces added this summer, some have also been shocked at the amount of players Arne Slot has been happy to let go of.
With Fabio Carvalho gone and Bobby Clark soon to follow, it now looks like Slot is ready to give the old heave ho to a number of other players at Anfield.

Liverpool ready to sell five more
While Saturday’s win over Ipswich had far more positives than negatives, it also signalled that Joe Gomez’s time at Liverpool may be coming to an end.
The 27-year-old was not included in Slot’s first competitive matchday squad and could now be on the way out.
And according to The Athletic, Gomez is now ‘considering his options’ as ‘several’ Premier League clubs show an interest in signing him.
One of those is said to be Aston Villa, although it’s claimed that ‘no deal is imminent’ with Unai Emery’s side.

Aside from Gomez, though, it is also reported that Liverpool are ‘considering offers’ for four more of Slot’s group.
Just like the Reds’ No.2, none of the quartet were including in the squad for Saturday.
Those in question are said to be Nat Phillips, Tyler Morton, Sepp van den Berg and Ben Doak as a ‘busy end to the transfer window’ at Anfield is promised, in terms of outgoings, anyway.
Three more players are reportedly ‘attracting loan interest,’ with Stefan Bajcetic, Owen Beck and Kaide Gordon all said to have possibilities for temporary moves.
Will Liverpool replace outgoing players?
While it is not unusual to see so many young players up for sale at the end of the summer window, you could understand some anxiety over Liverpool’s approach here.
For the time being, it seems very unlikely that the Reds would replace any of Phillips, Morton, Van den Berg and Doak.
There have been claims that Liverpool would enter the market if Gomez is sold, but should all of this quintet leave, then Slot would be three centre-backs down.
As a result, we’d suggest that Liverpool would almost certainly need to add another central defender to the senior squad, even if that is to promote an academy player like Amara Nallo.
If each of these five players gets a permanent move away from Anfield, it could even bring Liverpool something in the region of £100m in transfer fees. Not to see that reinvested would be extremely disappointing.
