Liverpool are still yet to make any moves in the transfer window this summer.
With the Premier League season now underway, the Reds are the only team in the top division without a new signing to their name.
Nevertheless, work does appear to be going on behind the scenes. It has been reported that a deal to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili is progressing and fans will hold out hope that more is being done besides.
For many Liverpool supporters, a new midfielder is the signing they really want to see their club make before August 31st.
Although it has been claimed that there was no alternative to top target Martin Zubimendi, it seems as though Arne Slot does have a chance to get an exciting young midfielder through the door at Anfield.

Liverpool in the mix for Jens Hjerto-Dahl
Part of the reason it seems as though Liverpool will not target an alternative to Zubimendi is because of the amount of midfielders in the first-team squad.
Slot clearly wants that part of the team upgrading, but the head coach does have options in the meantime.
We think Tyler Morton is set to stay at Liverpool after he was spotted wearing a new number during training this week.
And Morton is just one of a number of young midfielders, including the likes of Stefan Bajcetic and Trey Nyoni, who could be used by Slot this season.
According to journalist Graeme Bailey, though, Liverpool are also keeping a close eye on Tromso’s Jens Hjerto-Dahl, another big prospect in the centre of midfield.

“He’s one they’ve been looking at for a while, he’s a very good player,” Bailey exclusively tells Rousing The Kop. “Six foot four inch midfielder, plenty of potential.
“It might be possible for them to do something like that, they are looking at him. But he probably wouldn’t be going into the first-team squad,” adds the reporter.
“He’s got the stature, he’s an impressive character and he’s playing first-team football now so you never know.
“Liverpool have been watching him for a while but there’s lots of clubs in for him. Tottenham, Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund, he’s got a lot of interest and is one of the top prospects in Scandinavia.”
Who is Jens Hjerto-Dahl?
While Liverpool supporters would no doubt prefer to sign a midfielder to go into Slot’s starting XI between now and the end of August, this could still be a good move for them.
Bajcetic could be the future of Liverpool’s midfield and adding a huge player like Hjerto-Dahl alongside him could see the Reds set for years.
In terms of Hjerto-Dahl himself, he broke through into the Tromso team last season and has so far played 40 times for the Eliteserien team, scoring three times.
At just 18 he is a very young player but has already made an impression on the international stage, playing six times for Norway U19s.
Let’s see if Liverpool can beat away the competition and make a move to sign Hjerto-Dahl.
