Leon Osman makes ‘bold’ prediction about where Liverpool will finish in the Premier League table

Leon Osman has predicted where Liverpool will finish in the Premier League in Arne Slot’s first season in charge.

Liverpool have been predicted by Opta to finish third, with Slot heading for his debut campaign in the Anfield dugout after taking over from Jurgen Klopp.

Many Reds fans won’t know what to expect from the Dutchman, although he did enjoy a successful first pre-season at the club.

Liverpool get their new Premier League campaign underway against Ipswich Town, with their opponents having finished second in last season’s Championship.

Kieran McKenna is ‘excited’ to be taking on Liverpool, with the Tractor Boys welcoming the Reds to Portman Road on Saturday.

Leon Osman predicts where Liverpool will finish in the Premier League

The Anfield faithful will want a rapid start under Slot, but at the same time many will understand if he takes some time to fully get going.

For former Everton midfielder and pundit Leon Osman, however, it won’t exactly be a successful campaign for Slot.

As per the official Premier League website, Osman has made a ‘bold prediction’ of Liverpool not finishing in the top four.

Can Liverpool finish in the Premier League top four?

Fans of the Merseyside club will be desperate for another top four finish, with Klopp having guided the Reds to third place last time out.

Many will also be expecting the side to challenge for the league title under Slot, even with no signings made thus far.

The Dutchman does, however, still have time to bring in a handful of new faces, which could be neded given how Champions League football is returning to Anfield this season.

Ex-Everton player Osman has at least predicted his former rivals to qualify for UEFA competitions, along with Aston Villa and Manchester United.

The pundit has tipped Arsenal to go one better this year and lift the trophy, with Manchester City, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur completing his top four.
