Liverpool look likely to boost their transfer kitty with some fringe player sales over the next couple of weeks.
The Reds have so far been unusually quiet in the transfer market both in terms of incomings as well as those going out the door.
With Arne Slot keen to get as good a look as possible at the Liverpool squad he has inherited from Jurgen Klopp, that was an understandable stance to take.
However, with just over two weeks remaining in which Liverpool can buy and sell, things now need to start being ramped up. And quicky.
As the Reds look at which players can be moved on, though, they appear determined not to be forced into making any decisions they don’t necessarily want to take.

Liverpool won’t lower Sepp van den Berg price
While Liverpool fans reel after being rejected by Martin Zubimendi, all eyes are on what FSG are going to do next.
Unfortunately, it sounds like Liverpool did not have a back-up for Zubimendi and do not plan on making a defensive midfield signing.
However, things are still potentially in the works to add to the first-team squad. Liverpool continue to speak to Valencia about Giorgi Mamardashvili, for example.
For the most part, though, it seems likely that the exit door at Anfield will be busier than the entry one.

One of those who has been touted to be on the way out throughout the summer has been Sepp van den Berg. After doing well during pre-season, Van den Berg notably played no part in either of Liverpool’s two friendlies on Sunday.
Despite this, it does not seem as though a sale is imminent. Journalist Fabrizio Romano says that the Reds are in no mood to lower their £20m asking-price, despite plenty of interest.
“Understand Liverpool have been clear with clubs interested in Sepp van den Berg: price tag is £20m,” the reporter says on X.
“Liverpool are not accepting €10/12m proposals, no way. The asking price remains £20m.”
Liverpool should keep Sepp van den Berg
While no club has yet made an acceptable offer to Liverpool, it has been claimed that Van den Berg is still ‘very likely’ to leave the club.
In our opinion, however, the Reds would now be wise to keep the 22-year-old. As Mainz manager Bo Svensson said of Van den Berg, he is ‘incredibly talented.’
The longer the window goes on, the less likely it also feels that one of the interested clubs with shell out the fee that Liverpool want.
Liverpool have turned down numerous bids for Van den Berg and are clearly determined to keep him onboard.
At some stage, it no longer becomes worth selling the player and the Reds can instead plan for the season with him in the squad. The ball is very much in the interested club’s courts.
