Liverpool are yet to sanction a sale of any sort this summer involving players in the first-team, yet that could be about to change.
Fabio Carvalho is closing in on a £27m move from Liverpool to Brentford, with the Portuguese youth international set to call time on his Anfield career just two years after joining from Fulham.
With Caoimhin Kelleher also expected to leave Liverpool, there is set to be a flurry of activity this month in the red half of Merseyside in terms of outgoings and new signings potentially being made by Arne Slot’s side.
And club legend Robbie Fowler has now shared his verdict on one Liverpool star leaving this summer.

Fowler urges Trent Alexander-Arnold to stay at Liverpool
Writing for the Mirror [11/08, pg 75], the Anfield icon made his plea for Trent Alexander-Arnold to stay at Liverpool this summer, with the defender’s future still up in the air.
Alexander-Arnold has been linked with Real Madrid, with Liverpool at work on handing the right-back a new contract, and Fowler has now said his piece on trying to get the England international to stay with the Reds.

Fowler wrote when discussing Alexander-Arnold’s future at Liverpool: “One big positive is that Slot can go into the season with Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, after a summer of speculation.
“Alexander-Arnold’s future has got to be sorted as quickly as possible. Trent is the kind of player I just can’t visualise wearing the short of another club.”

Liverpool can’t waste time in securing Alexander-Arnold’s future
Alexander-Arnold is a Liverpool legend in the making and one of the best players on the planet, with the defender set to play a huge role under Slot in this new era of the club in the upcoming season.
Yet the Anfield side are wasting time this summer in not securing the England international down to a new contract, with Alexander-Arnold simply too important and good to be allowed to leave.
Indeed, Alexander-Arnold seems keen to stay at Liverpool, and the Reds needs to be doing everything they can to ensure that the 25-year-old fullback remains at Anfield for the next few years, whatever the cost.
