Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg seemingly remains uncertain about where he will be playing next season.
Van den Berg could leave Liverpool late in the transfer window, despite the centre-back featuring heavily in pre-season.
The Reds defeated Real Betis, Arsenal and Manchester United in the USA, with Van den Berg starting the first two matches.
He then appeared as a substitute in the third and final game, although Arne Slot did not have his full Liverpool squad available.
With the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate now back on the scene, the minutes could dry up for the young Dutchman.
How does Sepp van den Berg feel about staying at Liverpool?
Van den Berg spent last season on loan at German club Mainz, having previously been loaned out to Schalke.
According to Kicker, the defender is now reluctant to spend a season in reserve at Liverpool, with a return to the Bundesliga wanted.

The publication added that both Wolfsburg and his former club Mainz are keen on a deal for the 22-year-old.
Will Sepp van den Berg leave Liverpool?
Liverpool rejected £8million for Van den Berg from PSV, signalling that perhaps Slot is keen to keep him on board.
At the same time, however, it could simply mean that the powers that be at Anfield are holding out for a higher fee.

But whether the likes of Wolfsburg, Mainz, PSV or indeed another club are willing to raise the stakes remains to be seen.
For now, the Dutchman remains a Liverpool player, having been an important figure in the pre-season tour of the USA.
The Merseyside club have focused on outgoings so far this summer, and Van den Berg could be the next to exit.
