Liverpool will reportedly have to pay as much as £34m this summer if they’re to land an attacker who is believed to be wanted by the Reds.
The Anfield side have been slow off the mark this summer in regards to getting transfer business done, with Liverpool still the only Premier League team this window to spend a single penny on new signings despite losing Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara.
Whilst there have been rumours to the likes of Baris Alper Yilmaz and Mathys Angely, there’s a feeling in the air that it might take some time before Liverpool bring in their first signing of the summer, with the Reds currently out in America on pre-season training.
Yet Liverpool now know how much they have to pay for one exciting target.

Maximilian Beier valued at £34m amid Liverpool transfer interest
According to TuttoJuve, Hoffenheim have set a €40m (£34m) asking price for star striker Maximilian Beier, who as per the report is wanted by Liverpool this summer, as well as English rivals Manchester United.
Noted by Sport Bild as a ‘dangerous’ forward, Beier has been linked with a move to Liverpool for some time, with the youngster’s stock only increasing this summer as the Bundesliga attacker was named in Germany’s final squad for Euro 2024.
Originally valued at £25m, it seems like Hoffenheim have got the message on how to approach selling Bieier, with the price increase more than valid given how impressive the 21-year-old has been in the past 12 months for club and country.
And for Liverpool, spending £34m to sign Beier could be worth it in the long-term, with the forward able to play numerous positions and giving Arne Slot a new dimension in the attack alongside the likes of Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota.

Beier could be a fantastic long-term signing for the Reds
After a 16-goal season with Hoffenheim and featuring at Euro 2024 with Germany, it’s clear that Beier has a big future in the game if he continues on his current developmental path.
And for Liverpool, Beier could be a dream long-term attacking option for the Reds, with the 21-year-old offering Slot new options in the forward line that the Dutch coach simply does not have with his current ranks.
Indeed, £34m is a good fee for a player of Beier’s quality, potential and age, and with Liverpool’s rivals United already chasing the forward, the Reds will need to act fast if they’re to bring the Hoffenheim forward to Merseyside this summer.
