Liverpool are reportedly set to miss out on a rumoured target who this summer has chosen to join Manchester United.
The Red Devils have been one of the biggest spenders in the window this off-season, with Erik Ten Hag’s side already beating Liverpool to Leny Yoro, with the Old Trafford side set to make even more signings under their new ownership.
With the two English rivals set to face off against each other in the coming days in the United States, facing United with an understrength squad will be a good test for Arne Slot and his Liverpool side to gauge how ready they are for the new season.
Yet it appears that United are set to beat Liverpool to another target.

Adrien Rabiot set to sign for Manchester United over Liverpool
According to TuttoJuve, Rabiot is set on signing for United this summer having now rejected a contract offer from Liverpool, with the French international intent on moving to Old Trafford this window.
Praised as ‘world-class’ by France legend David Trezeguet, Rabiot has been a target for Liverpool for quite some time, with the midfielder officially leaving Juventus last month during the Euros with France.
With the Reds in the market for a midfielder, Rabiot would have been an ideal signing for Liverpool given how good the 28-year-old has been in the last two years for both club and country.
However, news that Rabiot has rejected Liverpool will sting for supporters especially if the former PSG man does indeed decide to join United, where the midfielder could be exceptional under Ten Hag.

Liverpool will be fuming that Rabiot has opted for Old Trafford
After Yoro earlier this month, losing out again to United for a top transfer target will hurt for Liverpool, especially with Rabiot a player who would have made a genuine impact with the Reds in the new season.
The French international has been exceptional and would have been a perfect replacement for the likes of Thiago Alcantara, with Liverpool in the market for a new midfielder who has experience to replace what was lost this summer.
Yet it is evident that Rabiot has made his mind up to join United, and for Liverpool, they can only return to the drawing board and hope that a new midfield target springs to mind in the coming weeks before the start of the new Premier League season.
