Liverpool are heading into the final six weeks of the transfer market still looking for the right opporunities.
The Reds are seemingly relatively settled with the group Arne Slot has taken over this summer.
The Liverpool squad is deep as it is and a number of players look primed to kick on from where they were last season.
Nevertheless, if the right player comes along, it feels like the Liverpool owners might yet jump at the chance.
One potential ‘opportunity’ in the market could be France midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The 29-year-old has just left Juventus and would be available for Liverpool to sign for nothing.

What’s going on with Liverpool and Adrien Rabiot
Rabiot has been linked with Liverpool for a long while now. The former PSG man had looked set to leave Juve on a free 12 months ago before signing a one-year extension.
This year, Rabiot has followed through on the expiry of his contract and walked away from the Italian giants for nothing.
Of course, although Rabiot would be available without a transfer fee, that would likely mean that his wages would be astonishingly high.
As a result of that – as well as the fact that Arne Slot already has a number of midfielders in not dissimilar moulds – a move to Anfield has always felt unlikely.

And according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, although Rabiot ‘dreams’ of a Premier League move, it will not be to Liverpool.
Taking to X, Romano reports that the Reds are absolutely not working on a deal to sign the France international.
“Adrien Rabiot dreams of Premier League football, his priority as free agent,” says the transfer expert. “Rabiot also has proposals from other leagues… but still waiting for PL clubs.
“Liverpool are NOT working on deal to sign Rabiot, despite recent links.”
Second journalist backs up Adrien Rabiot claim
Though Liverpool supporters are getting a little desperate for their club to make a new signing, we still think this news will come as a relief to them. Rabiot simply does not feel like a player the Reds need right now.
And speaking exclusively to Rousing The Kop, journalist Graeme Bailey has backed up Fabrizio Romano’s claim, suggesting that the interest in Rabiot joining Liverpool is coming solely from the player’s agent.
“Liverpool are one of the clubs who have been talked to by the agents,” says Bailey. “That’s not to say that Liverpool are talking to them because there’s a big difference. Liverpool have been kept informed.
“He’s available on a free but he’s on a lot a lot of money,” adds the reporter. “He’s going to be on well over £200k-per-week on a free. I don’t see any Premier League club taking that risk on him. From what I’m hearing the interest is coming more from his side.”
Rabiot is a fine midfielder with plenty of talent. But the ship sailed on a move to Liverpool a long, long time ago. Time to put this one to bed once and for all.
