Liverpool are deciding what to do with their legion of young players ahead of another new season.
As demonstrated during Saturday’s pre-season win over Real Betis, the Reds have so many talented prospects on their books.
But while some of them – like the excellent Trey Nyoni – look set for a campaign supplementing the first-team squad, others will be better served going out on-loan to get game time.
So far this summer, only one Liverpool youngster has taken that route. Calvin Ramsay has joined League One Wigan Athletic in an attempt to get his career back on track.
And with Arne Slot solidifying his early opinions of the Liverpool academy players, the short-term future of another Reds prospect looks set to be solved.

Luke Chambers rejects Championship offers
Saturday’s game against Betis saw Slot give 13 players aged 21 or under a run out in Pittsburgh.
Some of these impressed more than others, but they are all clearly talented youngsters. There’s a lot for the head coach to think about as Liverpool prepare to welcome more first-team players.
With seniors set to return, it seems as though a decision had actually already been taken on one member of the travelling Liverpool squad before the match with Betis.
Luke Chambers agreed a loan move with Wigan even before getting 25 minutes at centre-back for the Reds this weekend.

Chambers spent the second part of last season excelling with the League One club and will now link-up with Liverpool teammate Ramsay for the Latics.
And according to journalist Lewis Steele, the 20-year-old rejected offers from the division above in order to return to Wigan.
“It’s good experience for Luke to be on this tour around all these good players and in-front of Arne Slot,” Steele told The Redmen TV.
“He rejected a bit of Championship interest to go to Wigan just out of loyalty, because he was there last season.”
Does Luke Chambers have a future at Liverpool?
Interestingly, it has been reported that Chambers could be recalled by Liverpool if he does well at Wigan.
The Reds could seemingly look to send the left-back out on-loan to a higher level if he proves himself capable.
Given that Chambers did well at Wigan last season, it seems like a safe bet that he will be able to cut the mustard again.
In that scenario, it will be interesting to see what Liverpool decide will be best for him throughout the rest of the campaign.
For now, the question of his long-term future at Anfield remains undecided. Chambers is certainly on the first-team radar, but we’d like to see more evidence that he’s able to mix it in men’s football. Good luck, Luke.
