Liverpool have finally struck an agreement in the summer transfer window.
The Reds have so far been completely quiet in the market in terms of both incomings and outgoings.
With the Liverpool owners seemingly keen to allow Arne Slot a proper look at the full roster of players at the club before making any decisions, that has perhaps been wise.
But having now worked with the available Liverpool squad for almost three weeks, Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes have made a decisive call.
After seeing him do well there in the second-half of last season, Liverpool have again sent Luke Chambers out to Wigan Athletic. But there is a slight sting in the tail of the loan.

Liverpool loan Luke Chambers
Some supporters may have been expecting Chambers to play a part in the first-team this season.
There are question marks over the future of Kostas Tsimikas as Andy Robertson’s understudy and there is potentially a spot open for a youngster to stride through.
However, we actually think that Owen Beck is better placed than Chambers to make a contribution to the first-team.
Chambers had a bit of a go last year, playing four times before being sent out to Wigan in January. There, Chambers was described as being ‘incredible‘ by manager Shaun Maloney.

The 20-year-old clearly kicked on impressively. And according to journalist Lewis Steele on X, the League One club were seen as the best club for Chambers’ development.
Should the left-back do well however, and Liverpool could reportedly recall him or send him on to a higher level.
“Luke Chambers close to re-joining League One Wigan on loan,” Steele reports. “Some Championship clubs were keen but a return to the Latics seen as best for his development. He will feature in Liverpool’s pre-season tour before joining.
“He joins Calvin Ramsay in joining Wigan on loan from the Reds. Believe the loan agreement will be reviewed in January. If he outperforms League One level, Chambers could be recalled and sent to a higher standard.”
Arne Slot makes left-back suggestion
With Robertson still very much first choice and Tsimikas yet to move on, it looks wise to give Chambers game time out on-loan.
The club seemingly have a good relationship with Wigan, with Ramsay there too, and the close proximity means the pair will be easy to check on.
It will be interesting to see how the Latics get on with Chambers on one side and Ramsay on the other next season.
In terms of Liverpool, there were suggestions before he even took over that Slot was keen to make changes at left-back. This is a clear indication that the Dutchman sees Beck as being ahead of Chambers for the moment.
From our point of view, that’s a good decision. The 21-year-old looks a step ahead right now. Nice to finally see some decisive action being taken on squad planning.
