Conor Bradley says Liverpool have got an ‘unbelievable footballer’ who he loves to play alongside

Conor Bradley underlined exactly why he’s so highly thought of at Liverpool with another good display yesterday.

Starting just his seventh Premier League game, Bradley once again showed that the Reds are in capable hands as they wait for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s return.

Still, it wasn’t always an easy game for the right-back. Brighton had appeared to deliberately target the right of Liverpool’s defence. With Bradley and Jarell Quansah a combined 41-years-old between them, their inexperience showed a little.

Nevertheless, the Northern Ireland international never shied away and was at the heart of Liverpool’s attack, too. A top all-round display.

According to Bradley himself though – and by popular consensus to be fair – he was not the Reds’ outstanding performer on the day.

There was only really one choice for man of the match yesterday. You get the impression Liverpool would not have won the game had it not been for Alexis Mac Allister.

The Argentine has seen plenty of praise rightfully come his way since his midfield masterclass yesterday and speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Bradley showered him with more.

“He’s just an unbelievable footballer,” raved the youngster. “I’ve never seen someone retain the ball so well. He’s so calm on the ball and he’s so composed.

“He’s just a wonderful footballer and he’s a joy to play with. I can’t praise him enough, to be honest.”

How good has Mac Allister been

In the early part of Mac Allister’s Liverpool career, goals and assists have not really been his business.

Deployed more as a holding midfielder than in his natural, more advance role, the World Cup winner didn’t trouble the scorers much at all.

However, in his last 10 games for Liverpool, Mac Allister has scored four times and registered five assists. He set up the winning goal against Nottingham Forest as well as yesterday’s decisive pass for Mohamed Salah against Brighton.

Furthermore, Liverpool’s No.10 scored the crucial equaliser against Manchester City, as well as bagging an ultimately fruitless – but at the time important – leveller at Old Trafford.

In short, Macca is a little player for the big occasion. As time has gone on, it’s become apparent that he isn’t a World Cup winner by accident.
