One of the biggest revelations of the season (and there’s been a few) for Liverpool has been Conor Bradley. The Northern Irish right-back has been superb since he has come into the side in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s absence.
So brilliant has Bradley been that some have even speculated whether Alexander-Arnold will get back into the starting line-up when he returns from injury. In our eyes, Alexander-Arnold is still the first choice right-back, until or if he moves to midfield. However, Bradley is not close behind, and based on his form, he will be pushing Alexander-Arnold for years to come.
Perhaps not as creative as Alexander-Arnold, what Bradley has is an abundance of speed and the ability to be very direct. Physically, he is also extremely strong, despite his frame not being the biggest. All of that means he is difficult to play against both as a defender and as an attacker. It’s no surprise Bradley has become very accomplished in one vs one situations.
But he also offers a huge goal threat, something he demonstrated while on international duty for Northern Ireland this week.

Where Conor Bradley was used for Northern Ireland
Playing against Scotland on Tuesday night, Conor Bradley netted his first goal at senior international level for Northern Ireland. And it was some strike, hit with venom that bolted into the top corner of the net. His goal was also the only one in the game which secured his country an impressive victory.
What was really interesting to take from the game is that Bradley was used a lot higher up the pitch for Northern Ireland. The Liverpool youngster played as a winger or a right-sided midfielder in the game, and was taking up a lot of positions in the opposition’s final third.
Bradley flourished on the role, causing Scotland plenty of problems and bombing up and down the wing. Based on his goal and his performance, it wasn’t a surprise to see him name Gareth Bale as his footballing idol recently. There is no question there are a lot of similarities between Bradley and Bale in terms of where they started out their careers and the kind of playing style they both have.
It’s no surprise Bradley has recently been lauded by club legends like Robbie Fowler, who described him as ‘special.’ Based on the last few months of this year, it’s difficult to argue against that. Liverpool certainly have another gem in their hands.
