Saudi clubs are expected to make contact with ‘special’ Liverpool star in the coming weeks

As much as European football would hope otherwise, Saudi Arabia’s rise in football is here to stay. Saudi Arabian clubs made huge efforts to bring in world-class talent last summer, and the same is expected this year.

Of course, last season Liverpool were the beneficiaries of Saudi Arabia’s transfer kitty. Fabinho and Jordan Henderson were able to sold on for probably more than their true value at the time. This gave Liverpool crucial funds in the transfer market, which allowed Jurgen Klopp to invest heavily in his squad and bring in players like Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch for premium fees.

This time around, Liverpool may not be so fortunate. Because there is one player Saudi Arabia has coveted ever since last summer and who still seems to be high on the list of players they want this summer. But he is simply a ‘special’ player Liverpool cannot afford to lose, just as Micah Richards has said recently.

Mohamed Salah still on Saudi Arabia’s transfer radar

According to the latest report by transfer expert Rudy Galetti, Mohamed Salah is among the list of players which also includes Kevin de Bruyne, who are being targeted by Saudi Arabian clubs. Galetti claims contact could be made with the players in the coming weeks ahead.

It’s not surprising that Salah is on Saudi Arabia’s transfer radar. The Egyptian is one of the best players in the world. He has been in exceptional form for Liverpool over the last few years. He’s also an icon and a role model off the pitch.

However, no matter what money is offered to Liverpool, Salah is probably one player the Reds simply cannot afford to lose. Salah is just too important. Especially with a new manager coming in. Liverpool will need stability and continuity in the post Klopp era. And you can only achieve that if you keep your best players.
