Conor Bradley ran straight to 20-year-old Liverpool player at full-time after beating Luton last night

Last night was all about Liverpool’s young stars. Without Jurgen Klopp’s key first team players it was they who stepped up and provided a night to remember for everyone in attendance at Anfield.

From Caoimhin Kelleher in goal, to Conor Bradley at right-back and Jarell Quansah playing alongside him in the right-sided centre-back role. Then there was Harvey Elliott and Ryan Gravenberch, both coming into the team and excelling in their respective roles.

Not to mention the brilliant cameo from Bobby Clark, who impressed Jurgen Klopp. And also yet another cameo from James McConnell, who has been catching the eye all season. As well as a debut for Jayden Danns, who immediately made his moment count on the pitch and played a key role in setting-up Liverpool’s fourth goal.

But if we want to highlight one player, it has to be Liverpool’s 20-year-old star who was making his 100th appearance in the Reds’ first team on the night. Conor Bradley must have recognised that as well because he rushed to him after the game to show his appreciation.

After the final whistle, Elliott dropped to the ground and looked visibly exhausted. Rightfully so, he put in a stunning performance, and was everywhere on the pitch. Bradley was quick to notice him lying on the ground and rushed towards him to help him up.

It’s incredible to think that Elliott is merely still just 20-years-old. On the pitch he was already playing such an important senior role, dictating the play and constantly creating chances for Liverpool. The fact that he has 100 appearances at first team level now is also a huge testament to his talent.

Few players have hit that landmark for Liverpool, and even fewer have matched that landmark at a younger age than Elliott. People seem to underestimate him, but he is still very much one of the brightest talents at the club. Someone who can go all the way and become a legend at Liverpool. This performance was yet another example of that.
