There’s a common misconception going around that just because Liverpool don’t know who the new manager nor new sporing director will be, the club isn’t actively pursuing potential transfer targets. Of course the reality suggests otherwise.

Liverpool’s recruitment team is made-up of more than just two people. There are many others who are just as qualified and skilled to detect and find potential targets. As we speak, Liverpool’s recruitment team are undoubtedly drawing up a shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

It will be a window where Liverpool are expected to spend heavily. Jugen Klopp has started Liverpool 2.0 last summer, but the process of upgrading the squad is still underway. Whoever the new sporting director and new manager will be are expected to continue that process.

There will be plenty of potential candidates who Liverpool could target in order to continue the project. Including an exciting Brazilian, who has been on the club’s radar for some time.

Luis Guilherme on Liverpool’s transfer radar

According to Brazilian outlet Nosso Palestra Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Luis Guilherme. The report claims that Liverpool are considering making a move for the Brazilian in the summer transfer window later this year. The report claims he would cost Liverpool about £47m.

This is not the first time Guilherme’s name has been mentioned with Liverpool. Fabrizio Romano has claimed in the past that Liverpool have watched him for a long time.

Only 18-years-old Guilherme plays mostly as a winger but can also be used as a midfielder. He already has 32 senior first team appearances for Brazilian side Palmeiras. Regarded as one of the best up and coming young talents in Brazil, he has shown exciting potential since he emerged onto the scene.

Liverpool in the past haven’t really taken a risk on Brazilian players from South America. Guilherme is undoubtedly talented. However, that £47m price tag seems a little steep for a player who is yet to score or register an assist at senior level.
