It must be difficult for Xabi Alonso to concentrate only on the football at the moment. The Spaniard has emerged as one of the brightest minds in the football world recently. He’s one of the most promising young managers at the moment. Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen side have been unstoppable this season and he is still the only manager who is unbeaten in all competitions in Europe’s top five leagues.

According to the latest reports by Fussball Transfers, Bayern Munich and Liverpool are both interested in Alonso’s services this summer. However, the German report claims at this current moment in time Alonso is leaning towards a move to Liverpool.
That is no surprise, considering Bayern Munich are in disarray at the moment. Liverpool are clearly in a much better place.
There’s also the special connection Alonso has with Liverpool fans. Sure he may have played at Bayern Munich as well during the latter stages of his career, but it’s at Anfield where he is most fondly remembered.
Alonso is close to a legend for what he had achieved during his time at Liverpool, and the prospect of a return to the club is a hugely appealing one. Especially to embark on a challenge which will see Alonso trying to fill the void left behind by Jurgen Klopp.
