At this moment in time, things are going just fine for Liverpool on the pitch. There is still a long way to go until the finish line. However, for now Liverpool are on the right track. Everything is poised for Jurgen Klopp’s men to get the gold medal they seek. Their fate is in their own hands.
At this stage of the Premier League season, few other clubs can say the same thing. Liverpool have earned the right to. They’ve been performing to a really high standard all season, and there is no doubt they’ve been the best team in the league so far.
However, brewing under the surface, there is something that is happening behind the scenes that is threatening to undermine all of that. Something that Jurgen Klopp himself will be hugely worried about. And something that very much tainted all the positive results that went Liverpool’s way over the course of last weekend. Something that Gary Lineker has now also expressed doubts about as well.

Gary Lineker about his concern about Liverpool
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, Gary Lineker expressed worries about Liverpool’s current injury crisis and revealed he thinks it’s a concern at the club right now.
“The only concern you would have with Liverpool is the amount of injuries and the number of injuries that they have at present,” Lineker said.
Sitting alongside him, Alan Shearer seconded Lineker’s sentiments. Although he admitted that Liverpool cruised through their setbacks against Brentford.
“Two more [Jota and Jones]. And Nunez. I think that is Liverpool’s strengths, their options in forward positions, but they have got a lot of injuries. Having said that they still played really well [vs Brentford], they look like they have got that belief.”
Liverpool suffered plenty of injury setbacks already this season. The situation around Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones is undoubtedly unsettling. However, there is nothing Liverpool can do to change what has happened. All Klopp can do is try to mitigate the problems, and he has been doing that to great effect all season.
This is one last hurrah for Liverpool, and every player in that squad will give it their all to secure the league title for Klopp.
