For years now, there’s been a saga that just doesn’t want to end. As common as the Jude Bellingham to Liverpool rumours. Or the rumours linking Jadon Sancho to Manchester United for years before he ultimately signed for the Red Devils.
That rumour is, of course, Kylian Mbappe and his prospective move to Real Madrid. It seems like the Spanish giants have been trying to sign him for years, to no avail. However, in the upcoming transfer window with Mbappe’s contract expiring at the end of the season, Real Madrid were given a flicker of hope.
In previous years, the excessive transfer fee demands and PSG’s refusal to agree a deal were the biggest obstacle in Real Madrid’s way. But with Mbappe’s contract expiry, that will no longer be standing in Madrid’s way.
Although, according to the latest reports, even that might not be enough for Real Madrid to finally get their long coveted target over the line.
Kylian Mbappe’s honest thoughts on Real Madrid move
According to a report by The Athletic, Mbappe’s entourage are still ‘unconvinced’ about a potential move to Real Madrid. Which has thrown up doubts whether the Spanish giants can actually pull off a deal.
That could be a huge boost for Liverpool. Apart from Real Madrid one of the clubs that has been linked with Mbappe the most has been Liverpool.
Obviously, it’s going to be a tumultuous summer ahead at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave the club has made things uncertain. Which would undoubtedly complicate a potential move for Mbappe. However, at this stage, it cannot be ruled out. Mbappe clearly hasn’t made up his mind just yet and until then Liverpool still have a chance to bring him to the club. He is simply a world-class talent. And would be a huge recruitment for Liverpool.
