‘Outstanding’… Trent Alexander-Arnold says one Liverpool player has really stood out while he’s been out injured

After riding several injury issues over the past weeks, Liverpool are now looking almost back to full strength.

Jurgen Klopp did suggest that Darwin Nunez may be unable to play against Arsenal tomorrow during his press conference yesterday. However, with Nunez spotted in training later on Friday, even the Uruguayan looks set to be passed fit.

One of those who had previously been struggling with injury was Trent Alexander-Arnold. The right-back missed four games with a hamstring issue, during which Conor Bradley came in and did a superb job.

And speaking to liverpoolfc.com about the emergence of Bradley, Alexander-Arnold admitted he had been impressed.

“Outstanding!” gushed the 25-year-old, when asked about the team’s performance during his absence. “Great games. It’s one of those where you hope that when you’re out that the lads keep the form up and keep up the momentum that I was part of.

“That’s all you can hope [for] and I think the lads, especially Conor as well, the performances he and the team have put in have been outstanding and kept that momentum up and kept our run going.”

Klopp set for Trent decision

Heading into tomorrow’s big game with Arsenal, it looked like Klopp was set to have a big decision to make at right-back.

Following his displays of late, there have been loud calls for Bradley to retain his place for the trip to the Emirates.

However, today brought some devastating news for Bradley. As the Irish Examiner sadly reports, Conor lost his dad, Joe, only this morning.

Following the heart-breaking news, it’s reported that Liverpool are likely to leave it up to Bradley himself whether he will be involved against Arsenal.

But even if the Northern Irishman does bravely opt to play, it feels unlikely that he’d now be part of the starting XI.

Clearly, football is now the last thing on anyone’s mind where Conor is concerned today. We’d like to extend our deepest condolences to the whole Bradley family at this difficult time.

Hopefully there can be some comfort taken from the fact that Mr Bradley lived to see his boy conquer the world at Anfield on Wednesday.
