This game against Chelsea tonight had the potential of a banana skin. Chelsea are a tricky side to beat. But Liverpool in the first-half made sure the Blues did not have it their way.
Liverpool were simply dominant throughout the game and created plenty of chances. At the heart of everything was a surprising player as well. For so long, we have gotten used to Trent Alexander-Arnold dominating the right-back area for Liverpool.
But over the last few games, there is now a new star on that right hand-side in Conor Bradley. He’s already been in good form heading into this game with three assists in his last three games. But it’s this game against Chelsea where the 20-year-old has cemented his place in the first team.

Ally McCoist on Conor Bradley
Bradley may have been a surprise to start the game – given Alexander-Arnold was fit for this one. But he certainly silenced those who may have questioned Klopp’s decision. He was all over Chelsea from the first minute.
Bradley played a key role for Liverpool’s first goal setting-up Diogo Jota, then scored the Reds’ second and then got the third assist as well for Dominik Szoboszlai’s goal.
Speaking on the BBC, Ally McCoist lavished special praise for Bradley.
“He has been – I mentioned it before the game – Conor Bradley has been a breath of fresh air since he came into the side,” McCoist said. “Absolutely tremendous finish. He has been up and down that right-hand side all night so far. Watch it again, I’m not happy with Raheem Sterling’s defending. Lovely finish. Lovely finish across Petrovic. Am I a little harsh on Sterling? Maybe. But if he is a couple of yards back I think he covers that run. That’s not a right-back’s finish. That’s a forward’s finish.”
It’s not the first time Bradley has been praised by a BBC pundit. In Liverpool’s last game Chris Sutton had called him ‘phenomenal.’ And we can see why.
