Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool has come as a shock to everyone in the football world. It’s still really difficult to fathom that this will be his last season in charge of the club. But it’s a thought we must all grapple with and become to accept.

It seems though Klopp’s decision wasn’t just shocking to the club’s fans, but also to his players as well. Many have since come out and said that they were surprised by Klopp’s announcement on Friday. Including Andy Robertson – who has been at Liverpool almost from the beginning of Klopp’s time at Anfield.

Other players from around the world have also had their say on Klopp’s departure recently. Including a former Liverpool academy graduate in Conor Coady.

Conor Coady on Jurgen Klopp’s departure

Speaking on the BBC’s Monday Night Club podcast, Conor Coady explained that he thought the reaction to Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool has been strange. Especially the fact that there are people now looking at leaving the club after him.

“I think it’s a real strange one in terms of the amount of people now who are looking at going. Now we’re going into players and not just managers and the staff, we are going into players,” Coady said.

“I think Liverpool fans will be looking at it now going this turns into such a big rebuilding job that it’s going to be tough to try and find the right way to do that because Liverpool have built such a feeling between themselves and how they go about their business.

“I think the big part of it as well is that they have to find someone who can keep up with Pep. Liverpool have been the team who have kept up with Man City. It’s so important you can get someone in who can keep up with Pep Guardiola and if you can do that then you’ll be on to something but that’s going to be really difficult to do.”

Coady’s words sum up Liverpool’s situation at the moment. Uncertainty is to be expected, which is why it’s so important Liverpool find Klopp’s replacement as soon as possible.
