Jurgen Klopp must now do something he has not yet done before he leaves Liverpool

The next few months while Jurgen Klopp is still in charge of Liverpool are going to be an emotional roller coaster. Nobody is ready for him to leave the club. But now the clock is ticking.

A deadline has been set, and the day we have all come to dread is in the calendar. It’s a dreadful prospect to think about. So difficult to process.

Klopp was synonymous with Liverpool. It didn’t feel like he was a manager employed by the club – it felt like he was part of the club, and that Anfield was his home – the theatre he always belonged to. What he stood for and what he represented perfectly aligned with the ethos and values of the club.

It’s difficult to even fathom that there must now come a replacement in his place. For now, there are still months to think about – months where Klopp has plenty left to do.

Jurgen Klopp can achieve a Liverpool first this season

Before Klopp sent everyone into doom and gloom on Friday – there were things to celebrate. The Liverpool boss has just qualified the Reds into another final. Liverpool were still competing for every competition that they had entered this season.

It felt like the beginning of something new – but a beginning very much with Klopp involved. Now we know that won’t be the case. However, while he is still at the club he can still achieve something he has never done before.

Klopp has won many trophies in charge of Liverpool. But he has never won the same trophy twice. Now with Liverpool qualifying to the League Cup final – he can finally achieve this. And he must achieve it for the sake of his legacy.

Klopp deserves to go out as a hero. And the League Cup should just be the beginning of a fruitful campaign for Liverpool. A campaign in which Klopp deserves to lift the Premier League title again as well. And maybe even lift something he has never done in the Europa League trophy.

One last dance. One last hurrah. It’s all set-up now for a climatic ending.
